The best way to cleanse the body and lead a healthy life is to have a good nutritious diet .It should be a balanced and regular diet. The right amount of nutrients is essential to keep the illness at bay. The best way is cleanse the body is by increasing the fluid intake. Water and water based drinks are good for the body. One should always start the day with a warm glass of water, one teaspoon lemon juice and honey. It cleanses the body and is very natural.
Coconut water can also be taken daily as it helps in maintaining the electrolyte balance and is good for dehydrated persons. I normally prepare a blended smoothie of bottle gourd along with gooseberry or apple and then strain it .It is nutritious and apples are rich in pectin, an insoluble fiber which aids in digestion. Goose berry impacts tanginess and also the taste buds are activated. I love to give my children a smoothie of soya milk & fresh strawberries for breakfast.
Soya milk is rich in protein and fresh strawberries are rich in minerals, vitamins and fibers and also low in calories. It acts as a power drink and children love to drink it and it helps them keep going through the rigors. Tomato and mint juice acts as a good detoxifying agent. Fresh carrot along with beetroot and blanched spinach when prepared is a good smoothie. Fresh fruits like apple, banana, peach, melon and mango when blended either alone or as mixtures are healthy smoothies. In summer months, I prefer to give my kids a healthy mix of mango and melon .It is an exotic drink with the lusciousness of mango and watery content of melon.
Melons are rich in vitamin A and can be had anytime of the day. Vegetables like bitter gourd is sometimes blended well and strained and taken by persons suffering from diabetes.
Fresh spinach along with tomato also increases the iron content of the body. It is always advisable to drink the smoothie as soon as it is prepared so that the nutrition content is intact. I prefer to give green smoothies once a week to my kids so that intake of greens is sufficient and I usually avoid straining it as the fibers are removed. I make it a point to drink six to eight glasses of water daily.
Water is very essential in removing the toxins along with waste materials from the body. Favorite recipe: 4 cups chilled soya milk 2 cups fresh strawberries diced Sugar according to taste 1 cup ice, crushed Mint leaves for garnishing. Mix all the ingredients in a blender except the mint leaves and blend it till the mixture is smooth. Pour the strawberry soya mix in tall glasses and add mint leaves to it. Serve chilled.
