As I sit in my kitchen and wonder what beverage to chose from, I see the usual suspects – juice, water, soda, milk…even those bitter tasting pre-bottled smoothies filled with all kinds of nastiness.

This is the point where I break out my best mixer; yes, I have more than one. My largest best mixer is for making a party and my small one for making a snack. On this particular night it’s just me (the kids and wife are asleep), so I pull out my small counter-top best mixer – “The Magic Bullet“.

The deliciousness of my smoothie has awoken the vegetarian beast inside of me. The one that craves whole food and nutrition over chemical preservatives and that fake stuff people call “sweetener”. If life could only be as simple as a the fruit smoothie and a quiet night where only the crickets outside and the soft slushy sound of drinking through a straw fill the air.
